International Nigerian musician, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known in showbiz scenes as Wizkid has said that he is not a big fan of awards.
Speaking in an interview with Naomi Campbell, the “Joro” hitmaker said that he believes hard work is what matters and not awards. He said that as long as people are buying your craft, there will no need for an award.
He said that awards don’t define how great an artiste is because it is a scheme and show organized by a company to give to people.
“I am not a big fan of awards, I have been very vocal about it. It doesn’t define who you are, it doesn’t define your substance. It doesn’t define how amazing you are at the end of the day.”he said.
“As long as my music is touching the people the right way and they are feeling something the right way, I’m very content, That’s my award,” he added.
