The Federal Government of Nigeria has alerted Nigerians on the possible outbreak of Ebola in the country.
This comes after some fresh cases of the dreaded diseases were recorded in some neighbouring African nations.
The alert was given by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation who also happens to be the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha.
Speaking at the recent PTF briefing, he indicated that the PTF was also enhancing surveillance at points of entry to respond to the recent outbreak of Ebola in neighboring countries.
In his submission, he said;
“We shall keep a keen eye on it to avoid having to combat the two deadly diseases at the same time. This is not a task for the government alone but for all Nigerians and indeed all members of the public have a role to play.”
