DAVID NWOKORIE CONDEMNS ILLEGAL ARREST, DETENTION BY THE POLICE, SLAMS GENEVIEVE OPARA FOR ENGAGING IN CAMPAIGN OF CALUMNY
The Founder of the African Youth Leadership Center and Convener of the African Youth Conference, David Nwokorie has condemned his recent arrest by the Nigerian Police Force, describing it as illegal.
David had been arrested by the National Cybercrime Center and detained illegally for more than 48 hrs, a clear breach of his fundamental human rights. After much uproar by Activists and well meaning Nigerians, He was released.
The News gathered following his release was that David had been prevailed upon by members of the Advisory team not to pursue a criminal prosecution for Mrs Genevieve Hillary Opara after the break in, He had then proceeded to her office at the National Pencom Commission to withdraw the petition only to be stalled by one Mrs Chioma, The Head of Department on orders from Mrs Hillary. The Police illegally arrested him afterwards without warrant, forced him to make several statements under duress and denied him access to proper medical care.
David has described the allegations against him by Ms Genevieve Opara as mischievous, spurious and misleading with an intention to tarnish his Brand and personal reputation.
“ it is very disturbing to see such flimsy allegations of blackmail and extortion leveled against me. I will like to reiterate that these are spurious claims made by a woman with a streak of broken relationships and mental health issues. Genevieve resigned from the Foundation due to her incompetence and inability to grapple with Administrative issues despite all efforts by members of the Advisory group to help her”.
The truth behind all these is that she broke into my home with her Brother Gozie Bruno Opara earlier this year and for fear of being prosecuted, rushed to the police in a smart move to quell the petitions against her and twist the narrative”
Reacting to the petitions brought forward by Mrs Opara on blackmail, threat to life, Cyber bullying and Extortion, David reacted “In as much as I will not join issues and made further comments on this, I have been advised by my lawyers and my team will undertake a suit of criminal defamation against Mrs Opara. She will have to produce evidence to Nigerians to defend her contrived narratives.”
“I will once more like to reiterate that reliable intelligence speaks to the involvement of her Father, retired DIG Hillary Opara who had tried to influence my illegal arrest. Prior to this Incident he told me over the phone that he would do anything to protect his Daughter, alluding to shielding her from Criminal prosecution for Breaking into my home”.
