ISIEC Chairman Lauds Governor Uzodimma On Council Polls

The Chairman of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission ( ISIEC) Chief Charles Ejiogu has commended His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma Governor, Imo State for his resolve to support without any equivocation, the enthronement of a democratically elected leadership at the grassroots, by way of the upcoming Chairmanship and Councillorship elections in Imo State.
Chief Charles Ejiogu who stated this while chatting with newsmen in his office, further disclosed that Imo State would have concluded the second Council elections under Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration but for the insecurity challenge that is not peculiar to Imo State alone.
The ISIEC Boss enthused that the recent re-constitution of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission has unambiguously showcased the unwavering commitment of Governor Hope Uzodimma towards a holistic establishment of ” Third – Tier Governance ” in recognition of the yearnings and aspirations of Imolites.
Chief Charles Ejiogu revealed that the Commission will soon embark on massive sensitization and mobilization of the citizenry, starting with consultations with critical stakeholders; registered political parties existing in Imo State, Independent National Electoral Commission, Nigeria Police, Department of State Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Traditional Rulers/ Autonomous Communities and notable Opinion Leaders.
The Chief Electoral Officer of Imo State Chief Charles Ejiogu solicited the empathy/ understanding and untainted support of Imolites in order to make the task of delivering credible Council elections easier.
He further assured that by way of a level playing field, the Commission will create the enabling environment for all participants in the Council electoral process to strive and actualize their dreams unencumbered.
Chief Charles Ejiogu stated that he will continue to solicit massive support of grassroots democracy loving Imolites to stand firmly with the Commission , as it will roll out the necessary Guidelines and Timetable at the end of the ongoing consultions with critical stakeholders in the electoral process.
