Uwakwe Thanks Imo Governor for Supporting Youth at Automotive Workshop

Hon. Eric Uwakwe, the Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on Youth Affairs, has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodimma for sponsoring 10 delegates from the state to attend the workshop themed “Harnessing Youth Potentials and Career Prospects Within the Nigerian Automotive Sector.”

The event, which took place on the 11th and 12th of September 2024, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, focused on key topics such as CNG conversion, safety, and the benefits of utilizing CNG in the automotive sector. Uwakwe emphasized the importance of the state’s participation in such initiatives, stating that it is an opportunity for the youth to expand their skillset and prepare for a rapidly evolving industry.

The Governor’s commitment to youth development is evident in his continuous support of programs that uplift young individuals, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete in national and global markets. Uwakwe praised the Governor’s foresight, noting that this sponsorship further demonstrates his administration’s dedication to empowering Imo youths, especially in sectors critical to Nigeria’s future economic growth. He also commended the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives, Titilope Gbadamosi, for being one of the major organizers of the impactful event, further underlining the federal government’s support for youth-driven progress in the automotive sector.

Uwakwe expressed that the delegates, inspired by the information and resources provided during the two-day workshop, are eager to return to Imo State to share and implement their newly acquired knowledge. He highlighted that their involvement in discussions around CNG conversion and its advantages will not only benefit them personally but also contribute to the overall economic and environmental development of the state.

The SA extended his thanks to the organizers, particularly the National Automotive Design & Development Council and the Office of the SA to the President on Youth Initiatives, for creating such an impactful platform for young Nigerians. He assured that the participants from Imo State are committed to making the most of this opportunity by applying their learnings to foster innovation and sustainable growth in their local communities.
