Tony Oyeyiola was born Anthony Adebayo Oyeyiola on the 23rd April 1978 to Late Raphael Kehinde Oluranti Oyeyiola and Mrs Mary Oyeyiola in Lagos State, Nigeria. Tony, the first of six children is from Okerimi-Oro, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
He started his elementary school at St Peters Nursery/Primary School, Okerimi-Oro and graduated in 1990 after which he proceeded to Mount Carmel College, Oloje, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria in 1991 for his post-primary education.
He attended the prestigious University of Jos for his B.sc in Political Science, with an interest in International Economic Relations. He obtained his Post Graduate qualification from the great Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria where he bagged a Master of Business Administration with specialization in Human Resources Management.
Tony started his professional career with Project Alert on Violence Against Women and Girl Child as Assistant Program Officer-Research and Documentation; before making a move to Beneva Nigeria Ltd. as a Human Resources Advisor. He had a brief stint with Teclab Management Services Ltd. as Human Resources Coordinator (Recruitment and Outsourcing), before making the move to CMB Building Ltd. as Human Resources Officer where he rose geometrically to the Assistant Manager, Human Resources position with several awards and accolades to his name.
Having acquired numerous professional and on-the-job experiences, Tony was appointed Head of Human Resources at PrimeWaterView Ltd, A Real Estate firm in Lagos where he had a brief stint before proceeding to the British Council Nigeria as a Human Resources Business Partner in 2016. He is currently a Senior People Adviser (Human Resources) West Africa managing the Human Resources strategic drive of the organisation in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Cameroon.
As a Human Resources professional, Tony has acquired competencies in all functional spectrum of Human Resources Management to drive organizational peoples’ strategies and business. Even at that, some of his competencies are in organizational design and development, labour market research, Talent Acquisition and Management, Change Management and Business Transformation, Job evaluation, Labour and Employment law and best practices, Business Analysis and Partnering, Employee Motivation and Engagement, Emotional Intelligence, Career conversations, Counselling & Mentoring are some.
He is a professional and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM); Associate Member, Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD). He has received training, both locally and internationally which has exposed him to competitive global workplace dynamics and best practices.
Tony is an avid sports lover; with a strong bias for Football and a solid supporter of Manchester United Football Club, Kwara United and Shooting Stars (3SC) of Nigeria. His interest also lies in politics, leadership and books especially biographies, non-fictional/issue-based (socio-political issues, value restoration and faith-building) and motivational titles. He is passionate about helping Vulnerable Groups (which includes children, youths and women). His first book titled ‘Letter To My Fathers: A Celebration of Womanhood’ was published in 2016 and the sequel, ‘Letter To Our Youths: Not Too Young To Make Impact’ was released in 2018.
As a well-balanced man, Tony loves to serve, and he has done and continues to do this in different capacities. He was the President of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS), University of Jos, 2005/2006, currently the Secretary-General of University of Jos Alumni, Lagos Chapter and Interim Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Mount Carmel College Old Boys Association.
Tony is married to his beautiful wife, Ema and they have two children together, Tehila and Ryan.
