Abubakar Sidiq Usman is a professional Urban Planner and Sustainable Urban Development Specialist, Media Enthusiast and Political Communications Manager with diverse public and private sector experience spanning over 16 years’ of expertise.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the Federal University of Technology, Minna and a Master Degree in Sustainable Urban Development from the same institution, as well as various training and certifications from institutions and organisations relevant to his professional field of study, the media industry, leadership, entrepreneurship and management.
Abubakar has garnered experience in the built environment industry, having served as Executive Director in a private firm reputed for delivering bespoke services for individuals, organisations and governments.
As a media enthusiast, he distinguished himself in various media callings ranging from publishing, political communications and media management. His works has not only earned him awards and recognitions, it has helped in contribution to the informing, educating and enlightening Nigerians, especially about politics and governance.
He has been an active player in the political environment, especially within the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he has made valuable contribution since the inception of the party. This has earned him recognition to serve in different committees of the party, the chief of which are the leadership roles he was saddled with in the 2015, 2019 and 2023 APC Presidential Campaign Councils respectively.
Abubakar served as the Special Assistant on New Media to former President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan between 2019 and 2023, after which he returned to private practice. In June 2024, he was appointed the Chairman, Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Nyak, Plateau State, a position he is diligently prosecuting to the admiration of all.
