Several officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos Police Command were left injured after they were ambushed by hoodlums in Yaba area of the State.
Public Affairs Officer of RRS, Malik Nasir in a terse statement on his Facebook page said the Officers who resumed duties on Monday morning were attacked in Yaba by hoodlums disguising as #EndSARS protesters.
A viral video showed the hoodlums hurling stones and bottles on the two RRS trucks, while the officers in them were scampering for safety for fear of their lives.
Some of them sustained various degrees of injuries as they were hit by moving objects thrown at them.
According to him, many of them sustained various forms of injuries.
“They were being moved to where they were to take over duties from their colleagues expected to be off duty today.
“RRS vehicles were also vandalised by the protesters. Whatever the motives of the attackers were, only God knows,” Nasir sai
