‘Hoodlums didn’t burgle Ighalo’s house’- Ighalo’s friend confirms

Dapo Olatunji, a close friend of Odion Ighalo, has told The PUNCH that the Manchester United star’s home in Lagos was not burgled by hoodlums on Wednesday.

Several online media platforms had reported that the striker’s Lekki home was burgled by hoodlums, who had taken to the streets of Lagos destroying properties and looting in the wake of the ongoing #EndSARS protests in the country.

The hoodlums got into the estate and burgled the SPAR Nigeria store behind his house,” Dapo told The PUNCH.

“I’ve received several calls on this, that Ighalo’s mansion was burgled. It’s not true and it wasn’t burnt. The news is fake and the reports are lies.”

It was alleged that the hoodlums targeted the Manchester United’s striker’s house because he was vocal in his support for the ongoing protests against police brutality and extrajudicial killings.

Recall that Ighalo took to Twitter to record an emotional video where he labelled the Nigerian government “killers”, following reports that several youths were shot at Lekki toll gate by government-owned security forces during a protest on Tuesday.
