HOW TO BEHAVE IN PUBLIC PLACES

Have you ever been in a public place and someone’s attitude annoys you? It could be loud conversations in a small gathering, or stepping on your shoes while trying to pass.

Whenever you’re in a public place, your manners are on display. Here are a few things to take note of:

Don’t disturb the peace. It’s okay to answer a phone call in a bus with other people, or in the reception area. But talking too loudly can make others feel uncomfortable. Adjust your tone to your environment when having a conversation.

Singing. Almost everyone listens to music these days and we hum along more often than not. You might have the best voice around but you don’t really have to show off when you’re not performing in a public place.

Grooming Yourself. Fingering your ears for wax or checking your nostrils for excessive growth is disgusting when it’s done in public. Excuse yourself and do your business in the bathroom or wait until you get home.

Littering. Don’t litter. Unless you come across a waste bin, don’t dispose of your biscuit wraps on the floor or street. It’s a negative impression and defaces the environment.

Coughing/Sneezing. There are some people who never cover their mouth when they sneeze or cough. Some even cough up phlegm loudly. This is disturbing and unacceptable behavior.

Pay attention to your environment and treat everyone else how you would treat yourself. What other proper ways to behave in public can you think of? Comment below!
