Isiama Afaraukwu Royal Cabinet Members Applauds Doris Ogala On Appreciation Visit, Hails Appointment

Doris Ogala Umezurike, Nollywood actress and Special Adviser to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has applauded the effort of the governor for the construction of a major access road in Isiama Afarukwu Ibeku autonomous community, in Umuahia, Abia state.

Doris gave the commendation on Friday during an appreciation visit to the cabinet members of the traditional council of Isiama Afaraukwu autonomous community.

Doris who by Origin hails from Item in Bende local government area of Abia was born and raised by her family who lives in Isiama Afaraukwu community.

During the appreciation visit, Doris presented some gift items to the cabinet members while affirming that if her late father were to still alive, he would be very happy to see her standing before the elders of Isiama Afarakwu Ibeku in a good spotlight. She thanked the elders for allowing her to stand before them while recalling the deplorable state of the road before the construction.

Doris narrated how the vehicle of her father and that of others in the community regularly visits the mechanics due to mechanical fault generated from the bad condition of the road. She affirmed that Governor Ikpeazu changed the narratives of the road in the community and can do more despite the time left in his administration.

In her words: “One thing I know, and I’m proud to appreciate governor Ikpeazu for, was when our King, Eze Israel Okwu Kanu, died, the respect he gave the late Eze was to construct this road before the burial. The good heart that he utilized to fix this road will also move him to do more.

“I was born and brought up here, I also know more of the culture here than that of Item, apologies to my people at Item for that. I’m more of Isiama Afaraukwu because I did a lot with my peers while growing up. I’m so happy to be here today and this opportunity the governors have given me to serve as a special adviser; I want to assure you my fathers that I’m going to make you proud despite the little time left for his administration.”

Responding to the appreciation statement made by the Nollywood star, the royal cabinet members of Afaraukwu made up of Chief Ezinna Alozie Ogbonna, High Chief Barrister Orisa Ijebuoma, Chief Aguwa Okeke and the traditional Prime Minister of Isiama Afara ukwu, Chief Chimechefulam Odemelam in their various speeches on behalf of other cabinet members present, unanimously accepted the gift and thanked Doris for taking the initiative to come back home and acknowledge their relevance in the community while urging others raised in the community likewise indigenes to borrow a leaf from the good character and gesture displayed by Doris.

The elders also affirmed that despite not being an indigene of Afaraukwu by birth, they see her as their daughter to reckon with and support in her various endeavours anytime.
