Kankara district head sacked for aiding, abetting banditry

Sarkin Pawa, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal, the District Head of Kankara LGA, has been sacked by the Katsina Emirate Council for aiding and abetting banditry activities in his domain.

Sarkin Pawa, who was suspended last month, April 30 2021, was, however, found guilty of all the charges levied against him by the committee set up to look into the issue.

Security agents and other relevant stakeholders within Kankara LGA were reported to have testified against the Sarkin Pawa for indulging in banditry activities.

The spokesman of the Katsina Emirate, Sarkin Labarai, Alh. Ibrahim Iro Bindawa reportedly said that the Emir of Katsina, Alh. Abdulmuminu Kabir Usman ordered the sack of the district head.

The Sarkin Pawa’s sack was officially announced on Friday after the Emirate received a letter from the Katsina State Government which equally found him culpable of all the allegations levelled against him, a reliable source said.
