Dean Hurlock, a spokesperson of the British High Commission said that while they can confirm Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest, he was not picked up in the UK where he is based.
Abubakar Malami, minister of justice and attorney-general of the federal republic had told journalists in Abuja that Kanu was picked up on Sunday due to ‘the collaborative efforts of Nigerian Intelligence and security services.
According to Hurlock, “Nnamdi Kanu was not arrested in the UK for extradition purposes.”
In the same vein, Reno Omokri says contrary to reports, the rearrested leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, was no arrested or extradited by the British government.
Reno said he spoke with a top UK government source who confirmed to him that the British government was not involved in Kanu’s arrest or extradition.
He said the British official claimed Kanu was ”almost definitely arrested in Kenya”.

”I just spoke with a top UK government source. Nnamdi Kanu was NOT arrested or extradited by the British. According to this official, Kanu was “almost definitely arrested in KENYA” and “it was an illegal detention”. I won’t reveal my source, but I have him on record.
For those who do not know how these things operate, the United Kingdom is a civilised nation that is governed by the Rule of Law. No one, no matter how wanted, can be arrested and extradited without extradition hearings before a court, especially when that person is a British citizen.
There are Nigerians who are currently fighting their extradition to Nigeria in court in the UK. They cannot leave the UK on their own volition or on the request of the Nigerian government until their hearings are exhausted. If they lose at the court of first instance, they have a right of appeal.
I repeat, Nnamdi Kanu was not arrested or extradited by the British government.
Also, it is a lie that he boarded a plane and came to Nigeria by himself. That is just propaganda.”
Also, former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has warned the Federal Government not to allow leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (POB), Nnamdi Kanu die in custody.
Reacting to Kanu’s arrest on Tuesday, Fani-Kayode advised the Federal Government to ensure he did not die in custody.
He said Kanu should be treated with decency, decorum and respect.
In his words: “It is no longer news that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been arrested and detained.
“I advise the Federal Government to ensure that he does not die in custody and that he is treated with decency, decorum and respect.”
Meanwhile, popular Abuja-based activist, Deji Adeyanju, has urged the Federal Government to arrest the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami and Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, popular Ismalic cleric.
Adeyanju made the call while reacting to the rearrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, by the Nigerian government.
The convener of Concerned Nigerian said the Nigerian government should extend the same energy used in rearresting Kanu to the ‘real terrorists’ terrorising the country.”
In a tweet, the activist wrote: “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s rights must be respected at all times. The Buhari Govt should go and arrest the real terrorist terrorising our country and their sympathisers in and out of Govt.
“The Pantami & Gumis of this world.”
A few months ago, Pantami was linked to terrorist organisations like Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
Pantami was accused of being sympathetic to Al-Qaeda, Taliban and Boko Haram.
