You are acting a script to Politicize Security
-ELFON tells HURIWA, others

Following a press statement by Human Right Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) that the national assembly should impeach President Muhammadu Buhari due to spate of attacks by bandits, a group of young and emerging leaders under the aegis of Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON) has called on HURIWA) to stop politicizing security matters in the nation.

The National President of ELFON; Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel while addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday lashed out on the National Coordinator of HURIWA, Emmanuel Onwubiko that he is always playing the scripts of politicians by calling for thePresident’s impeachment.

“HURIWA and their sponsors should join President Muhammadu Buhari and Service Chiefs to deal with insecurity in the land”, God’s time admonished.

The ELFON press release states: “Our attention has been draw to an online publication by Human Right Writers Association (HURIWA) and we frown at this kind of report that is capable of disrupting the peace of our dear nation”.

ELFON also faults HURIWA for sabotaging the efforts of President Buhari to fight insecurity to a stand still.

“We condemned totally the statement of HURIWA. How can Onwubiko request the deployment of Super Tucanos to where bandits are keeping innocent citizens hostage”, Godstime asked.

Continuing, the group said: “We want to say that our military has rules of engagement which must be followed.

“HURIWA members are not security experts, and therefore can never understand how security issues are handled.

“We want to bring to the notice of HURIWA that impeachment of a President at this point in our nation’s history will breach peace and if it must take place, it has to pass through legal procedures.

“The National Assembly should understand that every nation around the world has it’s own security challenges and the one facing our country is not peculiar to us.

“Instead of being so fast to play the script of politicians by advancing the blame game, HURIWA should join forces with the President to end insecurity in Nigeria by using their writing ability to give a new orientation to those sponsoring insecurity”.
It will be recalled that Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), last Sunday, called on Senators to “fast-track the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari because a failure for seven years could not perform any miracle within the six-week ultimatum given to him by the federal lawmakers to tackle the menacing insecurity in the country”.
