Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known by his stage name Mr. Eazi has reacted to the ban of operations of Twitter in Nigeria.
It is no news that the Federal Government banned the social media giant from operating in Nigeria after it reacted to a tweet which came from the official handle of the President.
Recall that Buhari made a controversial tweet that made reference to the civil war that occurred many years ago. Buhari, in one of his tweets, noted that those hell-bent on destroying the country will be treated in a “language they understand” and this has set social media abuzz for days.
In reaction, Twitter took down the tweet saying it kicked against the rules of the company. In turn, the Federal government ordered for the stop of operations of Twitter in Nigeria.
Well, though many Nigerians have not been able to access the platform, others are still active on the platform by the usage of ways best known to them.
However, Mr Eazi has shared his thoughts about the ban. According to him, the Federal Government was quick to respond and kick against “suspicious” intentions of Twitter but has been quite on insecurity issues, banditry and kidnapping which has been ravaging lives day in day out.
The 29-year-old artist said it is a shame that the leaders have failed to govern what could be the greatest country in Africa.
