Okoroama Emerges Labour Party Candidate for Ahiazu Mbaise State Constituency
Sir Justin Chiemela Okoroama has emerged as the Labour Party’s candidate for the Ahiazu Mbaise State Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 Imo State House of Assembly election. His emergence was confirmed on May 30, 2026, in Ogbe Ward, Ahiazu Mbaise, following the party’s direct primary election, which was observed by INEC. Okoroama stood as the sole cleared aspirant after three other contenders stepped down from the race.
A total of 184 registered delegates participated in the process, which produced Okoroama as the party’s flagbearer. The businessman, agriculturist and Labour Party stalwart has gained increasing attention within the constituency for his grassroots mobilization efforts and his role in expanding the party’s membership base across communities in Ahiazu Mbaise.
Speaking after his emergence, Okoroama expressed gratitude to party members and called for continued support, prayers and unity ahead of the general election. He emphasized the importance of quality representation at the State Assembly, noting that the development of local communities depends largely on the competence, vision and commitment of those elected to represent them.
Widely regarded as one of the youngest aspirants in the race, Okoroama has built his campaign around effective representation, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure development, rural innovation and agricultural growth. His emergence is expected to further shape political conversations in Ahiazu Mbaise as stakeholders look ahead to the 2027 elections.
