YOG: HOW YOUTHS ON GROUND IS TURNING 600,000 NIGERIAN YOUTHS INTO AGRO-ENTREPRENEURS AND THE FACE OF RENEWED HOPE

*ABUJA* — While debates about “youth involvement” continue in Abuja, one movement has quietly left the conference rooms and taken the work to the farms, LGAs, and wards.
The *Youths on Ground Progressive and Mentorship Initiative, YOG*, is not asking for a seat at the table. It is building the table — one cluster of 10 youths at a time.
*FROM VISION TO STRUCTURE: A MOVEMENT WITH FOOT SOLDIERS*
Established to drive national development through structured, community-based youth engagement, YOG is focused on 5 things: *skills acquisition, capacity building, empowerment, mentorship, and networking*. The goal is simple: align youth energy with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The movement is led by a heavyweight Board of Trustees. Chairman is *His Excellency Mal. Dr. Isa Yuguda, CON* — _Matawallen Bauchi and North-East Zonal Coordinator, Renewed Hope Initiative_.
YOG already has *State and LGA Coordinators in all 36 States and the FCT*. Its growing list of Patrons includes:

*THE LAUNCHPAD: SOUTHEAST YOUTH SUMMIT, ENUGU*
YOG announced itself to the nation on *22nd November 2025* with the *YOG Southeast Youth Summit* at Oakland Hotel and Event Center, Enugu.
150 delegates — 30 from each of the 5 Southeast States — gathered for what became a blueprint.
Dignitaries included the Board Chairman and his entourage, *Chief Wole Iroaye* representing the Hon. Minister for Regional Development, and *Bar. Ekweremadu Jr.*, Commissioner for Youth Development, Enugu State.
The Chairman set the tone with an inspirational charge. Then came the masterclasses:
1. *Mazi Chinedu Afoenyih*, _YOG National Secretary for Empowerment & Renowned Agro-Consultant_, on _“Agriculture: A Panacea for Wealth Creation.”_
2. *Prof. D.D. Nwibo*, _Medical Chief Consultant fluent in 6 foreign languages_, on _“Finding the Pathway to Purpose: A Nigerian Youth Perspective.”_
The summit was sealed with culture — 30 minutes of spectacular Igbo dances — and hospitality — smoked jollof, peppered chicken, Ukwa with grilled fish. But the real headline was technology: *the unveiling of the YOG Network Mobile App*, now live on Google Play Store and Apple Store. For the first time, a youth movement gave its members a direct digital link to opportunity.
*ON THE GROUND: TRAINING, HEALTH, AND TOOLS*
Since Enugu, YOG has moved.
From *Agro-Tech Training and Empowerment in Jalingo, Taraba*, to *community health interventions in the FCT*, the model is the same: train, equip, and mentor at the grassroots. Participants get starter packs — seeds, manure, inputs — and are enrolled into a 1-on-1 mentorship program led by LGA coordinators.
*THE BIG PLAY: 600,000 YOUTHS, 3 PHASES, 5 MONTHS*
Now YOG is scaling.
*“We are convinced we can empower 600,000 youths drawn from the 6 geopolitical zones within 4 to 5 months, in 3 phases,”* says *Dr. Obioma Nwuba*, Founder/National Coordinator.
Here’s what that means:
1. *Economic Shift*: 600,000 youths trained in Agro-Tech will directly change the economic status of their families and communities.
2. *Food Security*: Massive boost to food production at the LGA level — where hunger is actually felt.
3. *Jobs*: A significant drop in youth unemployment, one cluster at a time.
4. *Security*: An idle youth is a risk. An empowered youth is an asset. The correlation is direct.
*“We are not offering handouts. We are offering a structured vehicle that guarantees quantifiable deliverables to the grassroots,”* Dr. Nwuba stated.
*THE ASK*
YOG’s message to political and non-political leaders is clear: *Partner with us now.*
The Renewed Hope Agenda cannot be delivered from Abuja alone. It must be planted in Taraba, processed in Enugu, and sold in Kano. YOG already has the coordinators, the app, the curriculum, and the will.
