The Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, on Saturday joined Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima in Lagos to brief President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the outcomes of Nigeria’s engagements at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81).

Halilu, who participated in Nigeria’s engagements on the sidelines of the General Assembly, also had the opportunity to meet with President Tinubu during the briefing.

He expressed appreciation for the President’s leadership and continued support, reaffirming NASENI’s commitment to translating international partnerships and engagements into tangible opportunities for business growth, job creation, technology transfer and increased local production.

Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration, NASENI has intensified efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s industrial and technological capacity by supporting local manufacturing, commercialising home-grown innovations and developing strategic partnerships that reduce the country’s dependence on imports. The Agency’s interventions across renewable energy, agriculture, transportation, digital technologies and manufacturing are focused on building productive capacity while creating opportunities for Nigerian businesses and young people.

NASENI is also leveraging partnerships with local and international institutions to facilitate technology transfer and establish sustainable manufacturing capabilities in Nigeria. Through these interventions, the Agency is supporting the administration’s broader objectives of industrialisation, economic diversification and job creation, while helping to position Nigeria as a competitive destination for technology-driven investment and manufacturing.

Halilu, at his meeting with President Tinubu also reiterated that NASENI would continue to ensure that its programmes and partnerships deliver measurable economic value to Nigerians, in line with the President’s vision of building a more productive, innovative and self-reliant economy.
