AFAM OSIGWE, SAN CONDEMNS THE KIDNAPPING OF DR. ROLAND IPUOLE (A LECTURER AT THE FACULTY OF LAW, UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR)

I am disheartened and outraged by the information about the kidnapping of Dr. Roland Ipuole, a distinguished lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar. Dr. Ipuole, who recently earned his doctorate in law, has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the academic and personal development of his students. His dedication to teaching and inspiring future generations of lawyers is well-known and deeply appreciated by his colleagues, students, and the wider community.

The kidnapping of Dr. Ipuole is not only a heinous crime against an esteemed educator but also a direct assault on the values of education, freedom, and security that we hold dear. Such acts of violence and intimidation are utterly unacceptable and have no place in our society.

I call upon the relevant security agencies, particularly the Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command to act swiftly and decisively to ensure the immediate and safe release of Dr. Ipuole. Those responsible for this despicable act must be apprehended and brought to justice without delay..

Our government and security forces must bolster their efforts in safeguarding the lives and well-being of all citizens, including those who contribute so significantly to the advancement of our society through education and mentorship.

In these trying times, I extend my deepest sympathy and support to Dr. Ipuole’s family, friends, colleagues, and students of the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar. I stand united with them in hope and prayer for his safe return.
